Se viene la premiere de I Know...

Finalmente el próximo viernes 28 conoceremos el nuevo video de Mariah con Busta Rhymes.

Acá ya adelantamos los últimos detalles del mismo, y si todo sale bien, la rotación del video puede llegar a lograr que el tema alcance el Top 5 de Billboard y con suerte (algunos dicen) el podio.

Técnicamente sería el 16vo. #1 de Mariah, porque el tema está firmado como un dúo y lanzado por J (compañía de Busta) y MonarC (de Mariah).

A esperar, que el futuro sigue siendo un misterio para todos... salvo Blanca Curi.

Mariah en un boliche gay inglés

Reconociendo la gran base homosexual de sus fans, Mariah visitó en Londres al bar G.A.Y..

Ahí cantó temas de su repertorio que no suele hacer con frecuencia: Subtle Invitation, Fly Away y Boy.

Vuelan los misiles (y vuela Mariah)

Má qué guerra ni qué guerra dijo la gente de MonarC. Y Mariah partió rumbo a Inglaterra para promocionar Charmbracelet y Boy.

Como todos saben, las cosas no están saliendo bien para Mariah en las tierras de la Reina. Sólo tuvo dos número uno en esas tierras... ¡con covers! Alcanzaron lo más alto de los charts Without You y Against All Odds (c/Westlife).

Así que Mariah quiere recuperar tiempo perdido promocionando CB y su relanzamiento.

Los números de esta semana

Se cae Charmbracelet del Hot 100 después de 15 semanas, pero sin llegar a vender un millón de copias. Está en el número 100 con 981.520.

Boy no aparece en los rankings, pero I Know What You Want está en el puesto 16! Sin ventas de single y sin video en rotación, muchos creen que puede ser el decimosexto número uno de Mariah.

Al tracklisting original, en Inglaterra se le agrega el bonus japonés (Miss You) y el tema con Busta Rhymes.

Puede llegar a haber más sorpresas, porque en uno de los sitios donde ya se puede comprar por adelantado el CD (saldrá en Mayo), anuncian un CD doble... sabrá Mandiga...ver para creer

El vil metal y la señorita Carey

De acuerdo con la última lista de la revista Rolling Stone sobre los músicos más ricos del año pasado, Paul McCartney se lleva las palmas con la super gira que realizó alrededor del globo.

Nuestra Mariah, después de tanto llanto y portazo con EMI/Virgin, se quedó con 30 millones... ¡y el puesto 8!.

Vamos, M. Nada en Billboard, pero seguís facturando.

Éramos poco y parió la Mottola

Miren lo que encontramos en lo de nuestros amigos de Mariahmania:

Las charlas del ex-presidente de Sony Music Tommy Mottola con Sony acerca de fundar una compañía musical bajo el paraguas corporativo del gigante de los medios de comunicación, están levantando un gran revuelo.

Las fuentes dijeron que el magnate de la música está sopesando la oferta de Sony y puede terminar sin contrato. Si Mottola no puede alcanzar un acuerdo con Sony, se espera que encuentre el hogar en Universal Music Group, otro grande la música.

¿Mariah y Tommy juntos? Sólo falta Walter A. y cartón lleno.

Mientras esperamos que se pongan las pilas y le paguen los viáticos a la Carey (si traen a Shakira...), el viernes pudimos ver en el programa a una de las chicas versionar "Hero".

Automatic Princess: más datos.

Como anticipamos el sábado, Automatic Princess es la marca de ropa y accesorios de Mariah.

El logo se puede ver en la ropa que viste en el video de IKWYW. Acá hay una aproximación de uno de los chicos del FOMM:

Detalles del video Bringin on the Heartbreak

Aparentemente, el vídeo de Bringin' On The Heartbreak, que fue grabado ayer en Los Angeles, será de una actuación basada en los 70. Se dice que el vídeo está dirigido por Sanaa Hamri, que ya ha dirigido vídeos como Crybaby y Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica).

Acerca de la historia del vídeo, parece ser un homenaje a la película protagonizada por Bette Middler y nominada al Oscar, The Rose (1979), donde Middler da vida a una cantante drogadicta, que muchos identificaron con la vida de Janis Joplin. Mariah fue filmada bajando de un helicóptero al auditorio, siendo escoltada por policías, despejándole el camino hacia su limusina. Dicen que va a ser una pequeña película, con un posible diálogo añadido.

Durante el momento álgido de la canción, Mariah se pone de rodillas. Detrás de Mariah había una gran mariposa que cambia de color y una imagen brillante de un girasol y usó fuegos artificiales.

En otra escena, Mariah lleva pantalones vaqueros con agujeros, una camiseta blanca y un gran abrigo blanco de pieles. Estaba preciosa. Tenía el pelo como cuando le dieron el premio en los premios Soul Train.

Cancelada la premiere de WiseGirls

Lamentablemente, suspendimos (por ahora) la premiere de WiseGirls, lo último de Mariah en cine.

La idea de juntarnos y volver a ver videos, presentaciones y rarezas (además de la película), sigue, pero estamos a la espera de un buen lugar, accesible y cómodo.

Si tenés alguna idea, podés escribirle a Tomás.

Mientras tanto, Juansa está armando una salida el Domingo a Alto Palermo.

¿Qué es Automatic Princess?

Ésa es la pregunta que más se hacen los fans de Mariah (además de "¿por qué demonios no canta en vivo?).

Al parecer, el próximo proyecto de MonarC es una marca llamada Automatic Princess.

Por ahí anda circulando el logo (una A y una P con una coronita), y todos especulan que es una marca de ropa o de accesorios de MC.

En fin, si prestan atención a las fotos que pusimos del video de I know what you want, van a ver que el colgante del collar de Mariah tiene el logo.

El concepto de I know what you want

Ashes, de RPN, nos brindó información sobre el nuevo vídeo de Mariah con Busta. El texto es largo, pero si tienen un ratito, léanlo.

The first thing we need to do in 2003 is visually raise the bar.  Our idea will push the envelope creatively with images inspired by the comic book artist Frank miller and his most prolific work, “Sin City.”  This clip will be sexy but still respected on the streets….a balance between sexual images that go with the vibe of the song and realness that incorporates the street.  Mariah Carey’s sultry vocal performance inter-cut with sexy narrative between Busta and his leading lady will take this clip over the top.  We will utilize the combined star power of Busta, Mariah and Ving Rhames to make an award-winning clip.
 
IT GOES DOWN LIKE THIS……
 
The video opens on Busta and his boys holding it down on a street corner in the hood.  A gleaming black car with dark tinted win dows rolls up and conversation comes to a halt.  Busta and his boys, Rampage, Spliff and Sham look on; they’re ready for whatever as the rear window slowly goes down.  You can tell from the look in their eyes that they are not sure if the person in the car is friend or foe, but they’ve been in the same situation before.  The window finally comes to a stop and reveals Ving Rhames.  The door opens, Ving steps out and walks directly over to Busta.  With his naturally imposing manner and intimidating frame, we are not sure of his intentions. But as Ving gets closer, we see Busta crack a sly smile and the two give each other pounds and a quick thug embrace.  We can tell they go all the way back and it’s always good to see an old friend.
 
Ving pulls Busta to the side and they walk down the street.  Ving has a problem.  He has beef on the street and needs to go out of town for a minute to handle his business.  Only thing, he’s got a wifey (let’s call her Eva ), a fine dime piece who is now in danger and he needs Busta to watch out for her while he’s away.  The streets ain’t safe for her right now, and he only trusts his boy Busta with her care.  Busta agrees to help his friend out and hold it down while he’s gone.
 
The music starts as Ving and Busta, Spliff, Sham and Rampage arrive.  The location is a fly house that’s a safe house for Ving’s lady, Eva.  Eva enters behind them and her sophisticated swagger tells us that she lives an extravagant life composed of only the finest things.  Ving introduces his lady to Busta and we hear the first lines of the song…….’shorty I know what you need’.  Busta and the girl lock eyes giving no overt reactions both feeling some chemistry.  Eva is too pissed at the situation to even recognize what she’s feeling.  As Ving turns and leaves he gives Busta a pound and his wife a kiss;  We can see she is upset that she is being left alone again. Busta closes the door behind Vi ng and Rampage, who goes with Ving on his mission, and turns from the door.  He looks at Eva again as she turns and walks into her bedroom slamming the door behind her.  She walks over to her window and watches as her mans car pulls out of the driveway.  
 
This is where Spliff’s verse begins.  Spliff is posted outside the house, he is the lookout man and he is rapping to his girl on his cell phone, trying to explain why he is not with her.  He has to hold it down for his man, Busta“ We been together for a few years, shed a few tears….”.  
 
We cut back to the outer room where Busta sits in front of a huge wall of monitors.  The camera pushes into one of the small black and white monitors where we see an image of Spliff Star out in the street.  He continues his verse.” Always busy this busy that, can’t talk on the phone”.  
 
We cut back to the bedroom.  We see our girl looking at a picture of herself with Ving.  On the line “ I know you’re aggravated walk around frustrated”, she throws the picture into the trash.  We cut back to Busta sitting in front of the monitors looking over his shoulder at Eva’s bedroom door.  
 
We hear Baby Sham’s verse.” Ay yo let me be honest with you, stuck with me all through my whole struggle”.  Sham is upstairs, guarding the top floor making sure there are no intruders.  
 
Back in the living room on the main floor, the camera pushes past Busta and into the bedroom where we see Eva on the bed. She is a crazy, sexy thick girl. As she lies on her stomach in the middle of the bed, her elbows rest on a pillow and a large red and black book titled Sin City lies in front of her.  Her calves are raised in the air as she slowly rubs them together anxiously waiting to turn the page.  We can tell she is really into this book.  A close up of her face reveals a sexy smile as she bites her lip.  Her nails are manicured with a design that mat ches the graphics of the comic book.  Her hand gently touches the page as she sinks deeper and deeper into Busta’s lyrics and the enchanting allure of Sin City.  
 
With each turn of the page, we see her budding fantasy of Busta graphically unfold.  On a completely all black set, their dark skin is luminous with a blue edge light that surrounds them. As the music builds, the two share passionate embraces that crescendo into striking, seductive poses.  
 
She is feeling Busta just as much as he is feeling her but she still doesn’t want to admit it, instead we register her feeling trapped and uncomfortable with this dude she doesn’t know watching over her.  We see her undress, wrap a towel around her and open the bedroom door.  She walks past Busta down the hallway in only a towel, she acts annoyed that she has to be exposed like this.  Above, Baby Sham’s verse kicks back in as he narrates the scenario playing out below with Busta and Eva “ But when we sex we tease in a passionate way, love the way that you touch it and your elaborate ways”.  She walks into the bathroom and turns on the shower.  The door is left open a crack and we start to see steam slowly flow out.  The chorus comes back in as Busta stares at the bathroom door wondering what’s going on inside.  Busta walks out of the living room and down the hallway towards the bathroom.  He walks right past Baby Sham as if he doesn’t notice him standing there.  He finishes his verse, “ Got the God feeling release relaxed for the day, it’s on you ma’ “.  Busta walks up to the bathroom door and he sings the hook “ Baby if you give it to me.”  The camera dollies from Busta in the hallway through the wall to Eva in the shower.  In mesmerizing slo mo we see the water drip off Eva’s body.  She turns the shower off and hops out.  She wraps a towel around her.  She looks towards the door where she sees Busta’s shadow outside the door.  She smiles to herself for a second and seductively opens the door.  When she opens the door, he’s no longer there.  She walks back down the hallway leaving wet footprints down the hallway floor.  Busta is sitting near the monitors as she walks down the hallway towards her bedroom. Busta never turns to look at her.  Busta’s rhyme begins.  He confidentially sits back as he swivels his chair around to face Eva’s door.  He begins to rhyme, “ Mommy listen, I feel your love for me baby and how it runs through you “.  As he rhymes we know he is talking directly to Eva.  We cut inside where we see her lying on the bed.  She is staring directly at the wall as if she is transfixed by Busta’s rhyme……  “ I never meant to put a thousand pounds of stress on your head”. We cut back to Busta who is continuing his verse, “ Baby I stay embracing your patience “.  Busta’s fantasy flashes embracing Eva in mesmerizing slo mo.  
 
We cut back to the bedroom. Eva lays ben t down on one knee looking at Busta through the keyhole of her bedroom door. We see Eva go over to the window to cool down. She raises the window and a cool breeze comes in moving the curtain.  She takes a deep breath.  Outside Busta opens the window in the living room, and the cool air comes in as well blowing a few papers across the table.  The sexual tension is rising.  Although they are in separate rooms we feel how  with Busta as Rah Digga delivers her verse from a woman’s perspective.  Rah Digga will be like Eva’s subconscience.  The camera pans around the room and we find Rah Digga sitting on the edge of the bed.  She is like our narrator here…not part of the action, but speaking for Eva’s thoughts.  When the chorus comes in we see Eva still standing in the window.  We see a dark figure walk up behind her, a hand slip up her waist, and lips kiss her neck.  She is open.  As we hear the chorus the action between Busta and Eva gets hotter.   ;She turns around to give him a kiss.  The color drains from the picture and it goes black and white. The camera pulls back and we see that Busta and Eva are on one of the surveillance monitors.  The camera pulls back from the monitor and we see Busta is still actually sitting in front of the monitors.  The moment between Busta and Eva was a fantasy.  Just then Eva walks out of the room.  She walks out of the room slowly and Busta stands.  There is a tense moment between the two.  Meanwhile, Ving and Rampage drive up in the yellow Lamborghini. Just as they lean in towards each other, the front door swings open and we see Ving Rhames walk in.  Busta and Eva try to look normal but everyone can feel the heat in the room.  Busta grabs his jacket, gives Ving a pound and makes his way out the door.  He feels like he’s making a narrow escape as he glances back at Eva one last time.  As she is hugging Ving and looking over his shoulder at Busta we hear Rampage’s verse…..” No matter what I do in the world you’ll never leave me, fall back ma and make your life style easy.”  Rampage waits for Ving and Eva down in the car while he spits his verse. We see Busta and his boys make his way out of the building and into his car.  As the final chorus plays we see the car pulling away from the hide out.  Busta’s car goes past some dark figures lurking in the shadows but he doesn’t notice them.  
 
All at once five assassins dressed in black come out of the shadows on amazing concept BMW motorcycles.  They roar up the street towards the hotel.  Busta sees this in his rearview mirror and slams his breaks.  The car does a 180 turn and our music changes to “Call An Ambulance.”  We cut back inside the house to see Eva screaming and Ving being overtaken by the assassins.  Busta hops out of his car and runs back towards the house as we fade to black.
 
MARIAH CAREY/THE CHORUS
 
The connective tissue for this song and video is the chorus.  “ Baby if you give it to me, etc.”  Mariah will propel the heat of our narrative by giving us a performance that builds in intensity and sensuality with each chorus, building to a crescendo of energy – Mariah’s ad-libs, breakdown, and outro chorus will parallel the pace of the narrative.  
 
We will have several performances of Mariah throughout the hotel location.  We will see her on the surveillance monitors in a very voyeuristic kind of performance as she is being watched by several small lipstick cameras.  We will also capture a performance in a long hallway that seems to never end.  I want to give Busta and Mariah’s performance together the feeling of Meth and Mary J in the “ All I Need “ video.  The visuals will be sensual yet simplistic creating a connection between Mariah, Busta and our audience.  Mariah’s sensual delivery of the chorus will accentuate the mood and sexual tension of our storyline.  The product ion value here will be all about Mariah herself adding her star power to the song and the imagery of Mariah and Busta together – two music video icons together - will be incredible.  I will shoot in 35mm film for best possible picture quality.  Good luck with the single, One.

Re-lanzamiento de Charmbracelet

RPN Japón (el sitio de Jack) nos dijo que se está planeando relanzar Charmbracelet en la isla nipona.

La idea, básicamente, es aprovechar que Mariah ya confirmó dos fechas en Japón para recitales y relanzar el álbum con un CD extra... posiblemente un DVD.

¿Qué traerá el DVD? Es un misterio, pero seguramenete los videos de los tres cortes. Pero todos rogamos por algo más!!!

El video de Bringin' on the Heartbreak

Este fin de semana Mariah planea grabar el video del próximo corte de "Charmbracelet": Bringin' on the Heartbreak.

La filmación se hará en Los Angeles, en un estadio. Este dato, más la llamada que se realizó para que los fans participan del video hace pensar que el mismo consistirá de una "semi" presentación en vivo, à la "Thank God I found you" y "I still believe".

Ya se filmó el video del tema de Busta Rhymes con Mariah (I know what you want). Calculamos que estará al aire en dos semanas.

Mariah, como buena chica entre "gansta rappers" está muy sexy, muy provocativa, muy... ¿desnuda?.

Nuestros afiliados de RPN nos mandaron unos escaneos del cd promo de "Boy (I need you)".

La foto no es la mejor que tiene Mariah, pero (consuelo de tontos) tampoco es la peor.

Según pudimos saber, es lejana la posibilidad de que Mariah nos visite en Octubre. Se complica con el nuevo tipo de cambio económico en el país.

Sólo nos resta esperar que algún programa (el reciente Operación Triunfo y el próximo Escalera a la Fama) la traiga para estos pagos.

Anda circulando un juego por Internet que incluye a Mariah.

Es un trivia en inglés, donde desafías a Carey a una serie de preguntas y ella misma te da las respuestas correctas.

Es una pavadita, per si andás con tiempo...

Sorpresa en los charts

Cuando todas las miradas estaban en "Boy", el tema de Busta Rhymes (el negro de "Last Night a DJ...") "I know what you want", con Mariah en los coros y the FlipMode Squad apareció con fuerza en los charts.

Es el tema que mejor debuta desde "Can't take that away"... ¡en el 99! y que mejor rankea desde "Loverboy"

Es polémico poder adjudicarle mucho crédito a Mariah. La participación en el tema es pobre, pero no es mucho más que en "Don't Stop".

Sea como sea, el tema aparece como un dueto y se lanza bajo el sello de Busta Rhymes y MonarC.

Mariah está grabando por estos días el video. Con esa difusión, no se puede descartar que pueda llegar alto en los charts... ¿el número uno decimosexto de Mariah?. Ver para creer...

Premio a la trayectoria

El sábado, en los "Soul Train Awards" (donde Mariah ya había aparecido hace unos años con el remix R&B de "My all") Carey recibió un premio a la trayectoria.

El premio en cuestión ("2003 Quincy Jones Award - Female, For Outstanding Career Achievements in the Field of Entertainment") se lo entregó Babyface, después de que Mariah cantara "My Saving Grace" (con menos playback del habitual).

La elección del tema no es casual: Si bien la promoción debe ser para "Boy", si te entregan un premio a la trayectoria... no podés cantar un tema como ese!!!

(Otro) Nuevo comienzo

En la que sería ya nuestra versión 4.0, GlitterBA se sigue renovando para poder continuar uniendo a más fans de Mariah en Argentina.

La página está aún llena de errores y problemas, pero esperamos solucionar todo. Como siempre, no dudes en mandarnos ideas y colaborar. Estamos dispuestos a publicar todo lo que nos mandes.

Premiere de WiseGirls

Siguen los preparativos para la nueva reunión de fans (y no tanto).

Estamos organizando una reunión para hacer nuestra propia premiere (á la Glitter) de WiseGirls, el último proyecto cinematográfico de Mariah.

Además de la película, la reunión girará sobre Chambracelet: vamos a proyectar todas las presentaciones de Mariah desde el lanzamiento de su último disco. También tendremos los videos más raros y que más pidan.

Boy (I need you) en MTVLA

Ya está rotando el nuevo corte del disco en MTV. Juan Pablo tiene una gran idea para promocionar el tema en Radio Disney.
